With, BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend, title parades and exclusive interviews, the team here at Moore Student Radio had a week to remember, here’s a little look into how it went!<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The start of the fun was Tuesday, during the Moore Breakfast show, hosted by Jack, who had a vey exciting guest on his show. As Radio 1's Big Weekend was coming up, he managed to host an insightful interview with Dan Haggis, a band member from one of the festivals headlining acts - The Wombats. Haggis spoke openly on all things on the early days, touring as a band and being from Liverpool!         <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Wednesday morning started off on a sad, but celebratory note. Jack was joined by Tom on the breakfast show, which was the last show of the academic year on Moore Student Radio. But the evening would be a special one, six members of the team were invited down to BBC Radio 1's mobile studio. We had the once in a lifetime experience of meeting Greg James, and being shown around a functioning BBC radio studio, even getting to use the technology! <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n

But that w<\/span><\/span><\/span>asn’t all …. As Greg was showing us all the equipment, he ushered us to the screen, where a zoom call was being broadcast with none other than MILEY CYRUS. It turns out that Greg had a trick up his sleeve and wanted to surprise us all with the A-list pop star- which definitely worked, with Phoebe and Darcy breaking to tears! We were thrilled to make it on air on the BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show with Greg James last Friday !<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n
