Recording:

1. When your computer has been logged on into. Find the little green icon labeled.

2. Once opened, click the search bar icon and type in the search 'Audition' and click the icon for the software to get started.

3 Once opened, log into the Adobe login with just your @ljmu.ac.uk part of your email to get started.

4. Once that's done, click on file and new track option on the menu and then click new audio file and name it whatever you wish, make sure to save it on a folder you will remember.

5. Make sure that you have set up everything for the mics. When setting up the mics, make sure they on level with your nose and the distance between your hand. Make sure you also test the levels so that the audio doesn't sound too quiet or too loud and poppy. Use the audio slider on the far left on the console to make sure the audio can be heard through the headphones, which we ask you to wear to make sure you can check the sound of your voice.

 6. Once you have finished recording your audio, press the space bar to finish recording and make sure you save everything as you go along, to avoid losing any progress and edit out any mistakes in the audio, by simply click and sliding the bit of audio you do not want.  Make sure as well, that the file is saved as an MP3 or a WAV as they are the only suitable methods of hearing the audio. After this is made make sure to save it in the folder you have put all your podcast stuff in.

7. Once you have saved your progress, you can open the audio as a multi-track which allows you to add and drop some intro and outro music (As long as it's copyright free). To do this just click the multi-track option next to the little folder icon in Audition and name the file something similar to what you named the audio file.

8. When you open the multi track, add the in the audio of what you recorded and add in the intro and outro music into the onto the separate tracks to make things easier.

9. To fade in the intro and outro music for your podcast, double click on the yellow line on the audio file track that says 'volume' and double click it an a small circle logo will appear on the volume line. Click again just next to icon made and you can drag them up and down to either fade in or fade out the music.

10. Finally, once you have edited and cleaned up your final podcast episode, go to the multitrack option in the top bar and click on 'Mixdown session' and click 'Entire session', this will allow the entire project to be created into one whole audio file. The last thing you need to do is save the project as an MP3 or WAV file and you are ready to go.
